Prepare for Wave 2 Epic Training (February 27 Go-Live)
- E-learning and prerequisite competency assessments open Oct. 26.
- You must complete e-learnings and prerequisite competency assessments prior to the in-person class.
- Super User in-class training is Oct. 26 – Nov. 25.
- End User and Provider in-class training is Nov. 16 – Feb. 12.
- September 10 – 50% of all Super Users registered
- September 18 – 50% of all End Users registered
- October 2 – 100% of Super Users and 75% of all End Users registered
- October 16 – 100% End Users registered
Virtual Office Hours
Virtual office hours are open to anyone needing assistance with registration. This is an informal event to provide information, support, and troubleshooting assistance for registration.

Registration Instructions and Resources
Wave 2 registration is August 24 – October 16.
This training registration is for users that will Go-Live in Wave 2 on February 27, 2027. This includes anyone employed by, or supporting UAB Hospital, UAB Medical West, Cooper Green, University Medical Center, UAB Callahan, UAB Medicine Huntsville, UAB School of Dentistry, UAB School of Health Professions, UAB School of Nursing, UAB School of Optometry, or related entities that will use direct access to the Epic EHR.
- Super Users supporting Wave 2 will need to be registered by their supervisor/manger no matter the entity.
- Providers need to register themselves.
- Providers with non-provider direct reports will need to attend a Manager Fair session and register those individuals.
- GuestHouse user education details will be sent through HealthStream.
- EpicCare Link user education is completed through the EpicCare Link site.
Username and Multifactor Authentication (MFA)
To access EpicU, you will need your UABMC username (username@uabmc.edu). Also called an AD login.
- If you need assistance with your UAB AD Username and/or password reset or need assistance with setting up MFA, contact the UAB Heath System IT Help Desk at 205-934-8888.
- You must use an onsite computer at a UAB location to claim your UABMC username.
- EpicU platforms have not been tested on a tablet or cell phone, so please use a desktop or laptop computer to complete registration.

Epic training is a foundational part of our implementation. This is not just classroom learning – it is essential preparation to ensure that every end user has the knowledge needed to deliver safe, high-quality care on day one of go-live.
