UAB Medicine is pleased to offer Continuing Medical Education (CME) and Continuing Nursing Education (CNE) credit for both virtual and in-person Epic training sessions.

This opportunity ensures that clinical professionals can earn credit while completing required Epic education. Although AAPA credit is not being offered, advanced practice providers may still apply CME credit toward their state and board requirements, where applicable.

How credit is awarded

Credit will be awarded based on the total number of hours (including partial hours) participants engage in training activities. Epic training includes a blended learning format, combining:

  • An asynchronous online component (completed in advance), and
  • A synchronous session (held either in person or virtually)

Both components are considered part of a single educational activity, and credit will be combined and awarded accordingly. part of a single educational activity, and credit will be combined and awarded accordingly.

Tracking and accessing your credit

Participant engagement and time spent in training will be documented and submitted via a centralized tracking process. This information will be uploaded into UAB’s CME system, which will:

  • Automatically create accounts for new users, if needed
  • Allow participants to access and download their certificate or transcript

Upon completion, participants can retrieve their credit documentation here: uab.cloud-cme.com/cme/
