What is the Go Live Support Window?

Epic News Menu

In the coming days, you will see a new entry added to your Outlook calendar marking the Epic Go Live Support Window.

We want to share a quick explanation of what this calendar entry means and what it does not.

What this is

  • A systemwide awareness marker for the Epic launch period
  • A shared reference point for when additional support, resources, and coordination will be in place
  • A reminder of a major, transformational milestone for our organization

What this is not

  • It is not a meeting
  • It does not block your schedule
  • It is not a freeze on PTO, though full and appropriate staffing will be needed to ensure patient care isn’t disrupted and that training needs for the EPIC transition are met. Departments will approve requests based on operational and training needs.

What is the Go Live Support Window?

The Go Live Support Window reflects the full period of support around Epic and includes three phases:

  • On Ramp: Preparation and readiness activities as we approach go-live
  • Go Live: The official launch of Epic
  • Stabilization: Ongoing support and optimization after launch

While many employees and physicians will play an active role during this time, the calendar entry is placed on all calendars to ensure shared awareness and alignment.

More information about Epic go-live expectations, training, and support will continue to be shared on JourneyToEpic.org.
