
What is your current role, and how long have you been in this position?
I’m the associate vice president for Ambulatory Access Services, and I’ve been in this role for 15 years.
Can you briefly describe the goals and tasks of your Epic Workgroup?
For the Epic Cheers CRM Workgroup, we develop and customize this platform to improve patient engagement and the overall patient experience by integrating data from the Epic EHR system. This team works to personalize patient interactions, streamline outreach, and automate tasks, which will us better manage patient populations, address care gaps, and attract new patients.
Also, I serve as co-chair of the Digital Health Workgroup. This team’s role is to implement and optimize Epic and its related digital tools to improve patient care, streamline operations, and enhance the patient experience.
What is one accomplishment that you are especially proud of?
Building consensus across all entities to follow Epic’s foundational system, which will allow us to better leverage the system’s capabilities for improved patient care and efficiency.

Patient services coordinator for the Muscular Dystrophy Association
Why are you excited about our Epic Journey?
For the first time in UAB Medicine history, we will all be working in one system. This will allow us to streamline operations, improve patient and provider experiences, and facilitate the coordination of care across different entities and organizations through tools such as Care Everywhere.
What is the next place on your travel bucket list?
A European river cruise, where we’ll visit six countries
