
What is your current job role, and how long have you been in this position?
I am the program director for Cardiovascular Imaging at UAB Medicine, and I’ve been in this role for five years.
Can you briefly describe the goals and tasks of your Workgroup?
Our goals are to improve patient safety, streamline cardiovascular documentation, and integrate seamlessly with imaging and other cardiology systems. Tasks include providing operational expertise, validating Foundation workflows, and ensuring alignment with enterprise goals. The group enhances processes, drives operational readiness, facilitates decision-making, and prepares our teams for a smooth go-live.
What is one accomplishment you are especially proud of?
Starting the diagnostic ultrasound program at Lawson State Community College
Before working in your current role, what was your most unusual or interesting job?
I was a teacher’s aide at a special needs school between medical school and residency.
Why are you excited about our journey to Epic?
I’m excited about our journey to Epic because it will allow us to provide safer, more efficient cardiovascular care through integrated decision support, streamlined workflows, and real-time access to patient information. We aim to use Epic Cupid’s structured reporting and imaging integration to standardize documentation, reduce duplication, improve throughput, and simplify billing. By doing so, we can spend less time navigating multiple platforms and focusing more on patient care, ultimately improving patient outcomes.
Where is your favorite place you have visited or gone on vacation?
Disney World. According to the marketing, it is the happiest place on Earth.

I had a driver’s license without a picture for about five years.
