Can you briefly describe the goals and tasks for your Epic workgroup?
With our fast-paced environment and variety of acuity levels, it is imperative that documentation is not a barrier. So, the goals and tasks of our workgroup include a comprehensive review of Epic Foundation, completing a comparison between the current state of workflows and documentation as compared to Epic, and making decisions and establishing workflows to ensure that the transition flows smoothly.
What is one accomplishment you are especially proud of?
The accomplishment I am most proud of is the work I’ve done alongside our teams to establish some ED-specific processes and tools to address workplace violence.
Before working in your current role, what was your most unusual or interesting job?
My most interesting job prior to this one was when I worked on the Medical Emergency Team. I loved critical care, the variety of patients, and being in the unique position to serve patients and visitors as well as nurses from the units and areas that we responded to.
Why are you excited about our Epic Journey?
Epic has so many great features to offer. The documentation seems to be very intuitive, the reports seem to be a lot more user friendly, and I am excited about the communication possibilities with patients as well as other facilities.

Orange Beach, with a gulf-front hotel room
What is the next place on your travel bucket list?
Jamaica
What do you do on a typical day off?
