What is your current role, and how long have you been in this position?
I’m the chief operating officer for the UAB St. Vincent’s Medical Group, having joined UAB Medicine following the acquisition of St. Vincent’s in November 2024. Since January 2018, I’ve led the physician enterprise at St. Vincent’s, overseeing employed physician practices, hospital-based providers, and a variety of physician arrangements.
Can you briefly describe the goals and tasks of your Workgroup for Epic?
I provide guidance and informed decision-making for the ambulatory design and workflows. I also represent operational interests and serve as a subject matter expert in the ambulatory space.
What is an accomplishment you are especially proud of?
I am most proud of the team and the growth we’ve achieved over the years for the Medical Group. I love strategic initiatives and fostering creativity among our team.
Before your current role, what was your most unusual or interesting job?
Most unusual: WeightWatchers advisor. Most interesting: office manager for a private urology group.
Why are you excited about our Epic Journey?
While I’m excited about the platform and its potential, I am most excited about how this will bring us together as an integrated health system for the state of Alabama.
